The monetary analysis includes the investment of installing the district cooling system. Installation costs consist of substation cost and access charge, and the tear-down cost comprises the removal of the old cooling system. According to Bertran, the implementation of the district cooling system has a decent investment margin as it stated “internal rate of return of 12% and a payback of the investment of 21 years.” The district cooling system will be a better investment than a water-cooling system.
